Neural Networks, Deep Learning and Machine Learning www.reddit.com

I am a newbie and I wonder if CNNs would be the right choice to detect and track the running path of players in sports videos. I got couple of questions regarding that, maybe someone more experienced can help me.

  1. Are CNNs still the state of the art for image recognition?

  2. Are there any (preferably simple) NNs used for object tracking, that I could use as a starting point?

Sorry for these noob questions.
