Do data scientists need to do Leetcode for data scientist interviews at FAANG or other big tech companies?

As the title suggested, I am planning to apply for senior data scientist job postings. I have many years of experiences in Python and machine learning, I have not been asked to do whiteboard coding/algorithm type questions during my previous interviews (but I am not aware of the industry standards in big tech companies), so I wonder if I should practice them for big tech companies' interview? Or is Leetcode only apply to software developers or engineers?
