Do you remember that day in statistics class when you heard about the normal curve? It’s bell-shaped. It’s symmetrical. It has a formula. Many things one could measure in nature follow this shape — it’s God’s curve.

Traditional inferential statistics are actually built on top of the assumption that, with enough experiments (that is, samples), our resulting distribution will be normal (yes, I’m leaving out the technical details for now).
