Computer Vision www.reddit.com

I'm trying to use Machine Vision for a school project, and I need fast hardware which can identify objects from a large library reliably. I've looked online but would like to get some feedback from people with experience (you guys) rather than the companies trying to sell their products. Any other suggestions are welcome. Also what models would you suggest for such a purpose?
