I have come to problems that I have solved in SQL (postgress) but doing the analysis in R or even Python would be easier.

I needed from a zip code the geometry column twice:1 for the orgin source and 1 for the destination. There would be no easy solution in SQL other use a nested query or use left join twice. Where as in R mapvalues(collum\_to\_transforn, zipcode, geometry) is sufficient.
