What are the career paths from DS to Management?

Currently coming up at 3 years of DS experience in the industry. Ultimately want to be reaching a DS manager kind of role, however what are the career paths for a data scientist to get into management/closer to the business? Do I need to make a switch into analytics or do you think the industry will evolve to incorporate DS directors and such?
