Open source Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) models are getting pretty big as the need for enhanced features in large language models becomes more important. So what are they? Well, the RAG models are a fusion of dense retrieval (DPR) and sequence-to-sequence models. They are designed to enhance the capabilities of LLMs by incorporating external knowledge.
