AB tests vs hypothesis tests

What are the primary differences between A/B testing and hypothesis testing?

I have preformed many of hypothesis tests in my academic experience and even taught them as an intro stats TA multiple times. However I have never done an A/B test. I am now applying to data science skills and know this is a valuable skill to put on a resume. Should I just say I know how to conduct one due to similarities to hypothesis testing or are …
