Afraid of freelancing data analysis jobs, any advice to get started ?

Hello everyone, as the title says, I am afraid of pursuing freelancing jobs because I don't really know what clients want.

I saw some data analysts cleaning data and visualizing it after extracting insights and patterns from it, so I guess they are using python, power Bi/Tableau to do that

What else do data analysts do? And how to know that I am ready for a project/freelancing job without butchering it in the end or not being able to complete …
