Can you succeed as a data scientist without a degree in data science or quantitative field?

Looking to pivot into a data science career. Seems like a lot of jobs are looking for technical skills (which I don't have). I have a science undergraduate degree with a low GPA and am studying business right now (2-yr program). Would getting a master's degree be worthwhile?
