Can’t talk to anyone about work?

Hello, I’m in the data field and I am finding that I can’t really talk to anyone about my work. When people ask me what I do it goes right over their heads. When I tell my family and loved ones what stressing me out it goes through one ear and just vaporizes neurons. Does anyone else deal with this? Are online forums the only recourse?
