[D] Anticipate downleveling when pivoting from non-FAANG? (L6)

Hey all - quick q. Has anyone else transitioned from a non-FAANG company into one of these roles? From what I’ve seen down leveling is quite prevalent and its generally director level roles (middle manager) that would convert to an L6. Is this true for the most part?
