One of the draws of decision trees is the ability to have an interpretable tree diagram of the model. As decision trees can over fit the training data, random forest can be used to account for sample to sample variability. However, the nice diagram from a single tree is lost. To recover a tree diagram, is it okay to fit a single tree on the results of the predictions from a trained random forest with the test data set?
