[D] for people working on ML at big tech/hedge funds, what percentage of alphas do you feel come from noise mainly?

I haven’t made up my mind on this, but I have some colleagues who strongly believe most people are not working on truly meaningful gains using ML, but are chasing internal publication biases. Curious what people at other companies think.
