If you work in ad tech in any machine-learning capacity you've probably been following the development of Google's Privacy sandbox, their Federated Learning of Cohorts, and today, their substitute Topics API. After significant backlash from the ad space, they effectively killed FLoC today and present an alternative to it.

Common elements to both:

  1. In-browser. 2) In browser definition of topics. 3) Will still require some deployment of machine learning models in-browser to make it work.
