[D] Is the KDD 2022 conference worth the $1100 price tag?

The early bird cost is around\~$1100. I work in industry so I'm not a researcher and I was looking to attend some conferences to expand my network. Conferences like ICML or NIPS seem way too theoretical and the people involved are on a completely different level compared to what I do day-to-day.
