I was browsing LinkedIn where I came across this novel pre-print paper from Microsoft, Tsinghua University, and Northwestern University. Their paper is titled [**Connecting Large Language Models with Evolutionary Algorithms Yields Powerful Prompt Optimizers**](https://openreview.net/pdf?id=ZG3RaNIsO8)**.** In this paper, researchers show that an extremely simple algorithm that mimics evolutionary algorithms has the potential to perform automated prompt engineering. This approach is scalable, easy-to-implement, and signficantly outperforms manual prompt engineering by a significant margin.
