I’m a CS and math major aiming for either machine learning or something with data science. I’ll also likely do a master’s later in either CS (with focus on ML and AI) or statistics.

Optimization is super helpful but this class is limited to linear optimization, which isn’t particularly useful. Though it might make learning other topics (i.e. integer programming and convex optimization) a bit easier(?)

I’ve heard numerical analysis is essential but I sat in on a few lectures …
