[D] Undergrad: How do you deal with the inherent unpredictability of publishing?

I worked in a lab for 2.5 years as an undergrad (I know this is pretty standard, but this felt like an extremely long time to me given undergrad is generally only 4 years long).

We submitted to CVPR, and got our reviews back today -- one weak accept, one borderline, one weak reject -- so extremely borderline overall. With rebuttals, we may be able to get some of these up enough for an acceptance, but we may also not. …
