[D] Undergrad seeking advice on ethics/ML research

I’m an undergraduate who’s considering a PhD student in ML. I’m currently in a lab that focuses on ethics in AI. While I love the work, it focuses on the humanities side of CS. I’ve always been a more mathy person and have always been interested in theoretical ML research.
