[D] What is the state-of-the-art for 1D signal cleanup?

I have the following problem. Imagine I have a 'supervised' dataset of 1D curves with inputs and outputs, where the input is a modulated noisy signal and the output is the cleaned desired signal. Is there a consensus in the machine learning community on how to tackle this simple problem? Have you ever worked on anything similar? What algorithm did you end up using?
