Hi, I'm reading this GAN paper which introduces a faster and simpler GAN architecture for creating high resolution images: [FastGAN paper](https://arxiv.org/abs/2101.04775)

The authors claim the computational advantage of their approach is partly the simple architecture.

Looking at figure 3 and 4, I cannot quite see why this is considered a simpler architecture to older GANs,say DCGAN. I get the technical argument that the generator only has one convolutional layer, but figure 3 has lots of up sampling layers, and the …
