Data Analyst at FAANG getting rejections for F500 Companies DS roles

Question for those in data-related but not DS roles. I'm working as a SQL monkey in FAANG and have a DS Masters. But I'm not able to get any DS role interviews.

To those working in DA,DE, or BIE roles, how tough is it to transition to Data Science roles? I don't want to be making dashboards and rewriting SQL queries for my entire life.
