Data science career path and salaries

I would appreciate any advice I can get on this. I own a business which makes $250k but due to many reasons I’m ready to sell it and move forward.

I want to make a career switch to data scientist or machine learning engineer. From what I have seen, the good entry point is data scientist.

Could anyone please advise me on salaries for a data scientist or ML engineer at the different points of the career?
