Data Science Internship or Research Assistant?

This summer I’m choosing between a internship position at a start up or working with a professor as a research assistant. Both pay similar amounts.
The internship would involve working with sql and data processing. I’m not explicitly interested in this, but I think it would be good industry experience.
The research assistant position would involve machine learning and something related to biology, but not exactly sure on specifics. It would be at a good university as well which is …
