I have seen regularly the idea of predicting customer churn as an indicator of performing an action to keep a customer more time in your company (for instance, sending a discount coupon).

But does that actually work in the long term?
Does your costume last for a long period after that or he/she will purchase only that time because you have sent a discount coupon (or other one-time action)?
