I am an independent researcher on deep reinforcement learning, with passion to achieve ultimate goal of general AI. However, recently I heard some point of view from another professor, which is that doing DRL is boring, just about ranking, better scores on simulations etc. Besides, it is also pointed out that it can not generalize well on other tasks though perform well on MuJoCo or Atari games. It is actually vague in my opinion.
