I am currently working on a project to extract person’s name from a phone transcription. I am able to extract the names using LLM. So far I have found that GPT 4 is a little better than 3.5 in accomplishing my task. However, the cost difference is pretty high.

I was wondering if any of our fine folks here have used any other methodology to extract names. I explored NER but it extracts all of the nouns from the conversation. …
