How can a layman learn more about DS?

I just want to start out by saying that I’m not looking to start a career in data science. I’m a forklift driver who’s fairly old, and no where near intelligent enough to have a career in anything computer related. I find, from what I’ve been able to read and understand, data science to be really interesting and I’d like to learn a lot more, and if possible learn how to collect data and maybe learn a programming language too. …
