I am a professor that does behavioral research (i.e. I run experiments with N = 200-400 and run ANOVAs and regressions, using SAS / R). I've published in a couple good journals and have been teaching / conducting research for several years.

If I were to quit academia and look for a job in data science, how realistic do you think it would be? I know a couple friends who used to be quantitative researchers who switched fields to industry …
