How to show X^+ = (X^T X)^{-1} X^T using SVD

What is the simplest way to show that X\^+ = (X\^T X)\^{-1} X\^T for any matrix? Is there a way to show this using SVD?

Edit: $X\^+$ refers to the Moore–Penrose inverse.
