Is Data Science/Statistics as versatile as I’ve heard it is?

Long story short I have no clue what to do with my life. I’m in college, and considering majoring in data science and statistics (one degree) just to have a wide variety of options after college. Im not sure if I’m passionate about it, but it seems like something practical. Anyone have any insight?
