Is Self-Serve BI/Viz worth it?

We're evaluating for a new BI / viz tool at my company, and a concern I have with these self-serve visualization / no-code viz tools is, ultimately, some product / non-tech person is going to create their own concotion of metrics in their dashboard, something is going to go up/down, and then my data team is going to have to explain what happened, when we don't even know what this person did or what they're calculating.
