I have been working in finance (brokerage, dealing) for the past 6 years and, last January, I started to study Python and Machine Learning. However, I fail to see any useful use in Asset Management.

Portfolio management is a constrained optimization that can be done in Scipy Minimize, and markets cannot be predicted regardless of the machine learning, neural network, NLP, etc. you may use.

What is left to predict for a data scientist working in Asset Management? Does anyone …
