Job Market for DS/DA/DE

How is the job market overall for data science/data engineering? I was looking through a bunch of doom and gloom posts in r/cscareerquestions and r/csMajors and it makes it seem like SWE and tech in general are moving toward a lower-paying / not-so-great place.
