I remember hearing some stats joke that went sort of like this:

Some famous doctor is in a lecture hall and he claims that he has developed an extraordinary procedure that works. Some student in the class points out that there's no control group so no way to know if it really works. Punch line is something like "Which one?" when asking which group would get helped/harmed.
