I’m a soon to be grad student in applied math, interested in ML research. I wanna get myself up to a point where my knowledge base in the field is strong enough I could conceivably do productive research.

Right now I’m going through this lecture series on statistical learning from MIT, and working my way through ‘the elements of statistical learning’. Once that’s done what should my game plan be for continuing to ‘get myself up to speed’.
