Hi,
I am a PhD student in Applied Mathematics + statistics and I am taking a deep learning course this semester which has a project requirement. While I am strong in my mathematical statistics, foundational ML, and natural language processing (NLP), this is my first time learning deep learning formally. Professor expects us to do independent, novel (nothing groundbreaking, but publication worthy if pursued properly) research and I wanted to use this community to gather ideas.
