In simpler terms I'm hoping to make a mind map of the file icons arranged into a specific (savable) layout so that I can easily access and compare multiple files/data sets. I can already pretty much do this by dragging around files on my desktop into the desired arrangement - I'm looking to avoid clutter and have essentially a blank space that I can do this and then be able to save/close the file map for future reference/study.
