I have been reading countless papers just to find a good definition.
SemEval was one of the first papers to define **Relation Classification** as:

Given 2 entities and a sentence, predict the corresponding relation.

Then there is [this survey](https://www.cs.cmu.edu/~nbach/papers/A-survey-on-Relation-Extraction.pdf) about Relation Extraction which is quoted over 200 times and still does not manage to explain it (See formula (1)).

Then there are [SOTA papers](https://aclanthology.org/2021.findings-emnlp.204.pdf) which define Relation Extraction as: given a sentence, extract the Named Entities AND the Relation.

Seriously? …
