SAS programming (newbie)

I had heard people saying that SAS is very easy to learn ; easier than Python. I recently moved to a new company and they have put me SAS project. Since i have worked in SQL the PROC sql part was easy to catch. But SAS macros is way too much complex and difficult for me. I am extremely confused and tensed now. Am I missing something ?
