Should I get a minor in applied stats

Hi all, I am a rising freshman majoring in cs and I’ve developed an interest in data science and ml. I’m planning not to get a masters but want to work in this field, I will be taking some advanced ml courses which my uni provides. My main question is how beneficial will it be for me to get a minor in applied stats if I want to work in data science and ml field?
