Should I quit mobile and start learning data science?

I've been learning Android development since 9th grade, and I really enjoyed this field. I'm currently learning software engineering in college (2 year) and working as Android developer. However, most of my friends, teachers and colleagues tell me that I will be good in data science due to my exceptional skill in math and great knowledge in both declarative and functional programming.
