Should I still pursue undergrad research even though I already have FAANG internship offer?

In my senior year of DS bachelor's, graduating in winter of this year. I have a FAANG internship in the summer, but began talking to a professor about potential research in game theory/social choice. I do not want to do internship and research concurrently (and the professor is against it too), so if I take on any projects it will be while I'm also taking courses.
