The classical train/val/test split is not needed in K-fold cross validation?

I was reading about k-fold cross validation and I got this doubt regarding whether we need the train/val/test split anymore if we are using k-fold cross validation. We have train and val splits in k-fold cross validation, but then if we have to report the performance of our trained model, then we should have a test portion of the data also right?
