Which role to apply for: Data Analyst vs Data Scientist?

I currently work as a Senior Data Analyst for the US Federal Government. My work involves a little data engineering, a lot of data analysis but little Data Science. I also have a MS degree which gave me DS education. I love that my current job gives me some exposure to data engineering but I don’t like the lack of exposure to machine learning.
