Do DS/DA YouTubers really make money?

I see a lot of DA/DS folks making their YouTube/IG channel and eventually selling a course. I think that usually people follow the money. So there must be a legit business model here that people are trying to follow. Can anyone give a first-hand (or close to first-hand) realistic experience, please?
