I am a data science major with aspirations to be focused in software development/engineering and I’m curious how useful calculus is. In my coding experience, about 6 years, I haven’t needed calculus all that much, maybe a couple functions but nothing that an entire calculus course become necessary. I’m asking those who are in the data science field, how used are topics of higher-end math such as calculus or similar fields?
