Interview Take Home task seemed unreasonable

I am finishing my my masters degree in data analytics. Previously I've worked as a business analyst for three years. I just had an interview for a data analyst position and I was asked to complete a take home assignment with two parts: a written analysis, and an R project that included a business report with a summary and discussion for recommendations on improving the data reporting.
