OCR model to detect handwritten text. What to use?

For the sake of learning and to solve an actual problem of mine, I want to create an OCR app that detects my handwritten greek and/or english text. I have done a bit of research and so far I have concluded that there are 2 options:

1. Use an OCR framework like Tesseract, OCRopus, EasyOCR or other that has pretrained models and fine tune them with my handwritten greek dataset.
